COIR FIBRE

Coir Bales

Coir fibre bales are made from natural coconut fibres and have a variety of uses in gardening, agriculture, and even in industries like upholstery and erosion control. Coir fibre bales are made from 100% natural coconut fibre, which is cleaned and compressed into bales.

Coir fibre is used as a growing medium, soil amendment, and for improving soil aeration and water retention. Used in car seats and dashboards. Used for erosion control and drainage filtering. Coir fibre is used in the production of coir spring mattresses and furniture.

Brown coir is harvested from fully ripened coconuts. It is thick, strong and has high abrasion resistance. It is typically used in mats, brushes and sacking. Mature brown coir fibers contain more lignin and less cellulose than fibers such as flax and cotton, Fresh water is used to process brown coir

Features of Coir Fibre

  • Natural and Biodegradable: Made from coconut husk, it's environmentally friendly and biodegradable.
  • Durability: Coir fibers are strong and have a high tensile strength, making them long-lasting.
  • Water Resistance: Coir is naturally resistant to water, reducing the risk of damage from moisture.
  • Versatility: Used in various applications, including gardening, erosion control, upholstery, and even in the production of mats and brushes.
  • Good Insulation Properties: Coir fibers provide effective thermal and acoustic insulation.
  • Excellent Aeration: In horticulture, coir improves soil aeration, promoting healthier root growth.
  • Low Decomposition Rate: Compared to other organic materials, coir decomposes slowly, enhancing its effectiveness as a growing medium.
